You know, if this were the 17th century I’d have those folks burned at the stake as I’m thoroughly convinced there’s no way in hell they could have trained those cats to do all that stuff with out first making a pact with the devil.

Oh wow, years and years ago this guy performed at a small show in the Circus Circus hotel in Vegas while my family was vacationing there. I’m pretty sure he didn’t have the clown makeup at the time, though, because I developed a little crush on him (I was 12 or so at the time), and went to see him three times over. He and his cats did a lot of the same tricks. He also had some dogs which were able to do more elaborate stunts.
What a fantastic moment of unexpected nostalgia.

Popovich’s Pet Circus is still performing in Las Vegas. They have a theater in the Miracle Mile shops at Planet Hollywood. Amazing show! The wife and I go about every other trip, just to see what new pound/shelter rescues have been added to the act.
My wife and I went to see the “Moscow Cat Circus” in Toronto around 10 years ago; whether it’s the same one in the video, I couldn’t say.
The tickets were somewhat expensive and the show was around an hour in length. Some of the cat stunts were interesting, but the show was interspersed with non-cat acts to pad it out. In retrospect it probably wasn’t worth it.
Just don’t search for “Russian Pussy Circus”
He (or some similar act) was on Penn & Teller’s Sin City Spectacular series on Spike in 1998 or thereabouts. Blew my mind!
My parents went to see this in Austin and we are going when it comes to Houston. (Tickets have been purchased!)
Even while doing tricks, cats still looks pissed off.
