Only the ninth time an asteroid/meteoroid has been discovered by radar before it hit, there are a few good videos of it. (If anything survived atmospheric ablation, it is probably in the drink now.)

Did someone move the Philippines, or did they move the equator?
Or alternatively, is the South Pacific not defined as that portion of Pacific Ocean that lies south of the equator and no one ever bothered to tell me?
Per wiki, it’s in the western Pacific, not southern. I think all of it lies above the equator.
Added: looks like the southernmost* part of the Philippines lies 5° or 6° north of the equator.
* — the islands of Mindanao and Tawi-Tawi.
Cthulhu is bigger than you imagine, it could drive you mad if you ever think of it long enough.
And the asteroid? Cool! Next they will work out how to redirect them, next thing you know, someone will use them as a weapon. Like the cornfielded hurricane, but more suddenly and unexpected.
