It flew in through an open window. Just sparrow-sized, not a big crow or anything like that. Is there some way to coax this thing to leave (loud heavy metal music?)? Or should I just let it get tired of the mess in there and let it leave on its own?
Oh, you might just leave the window open and wait for it to find its way out, but I’ve always caught them when they come in the office. They get confused pretty easily with the other windows, and it’s not too hard to corner them and take them outside.
You can toss a tea towel over it, carefully scoop it up in the tea towel and take it outside. That was the method for catching our extremely hostile female Bourque’s Parakeet. (She bit. Panicked, but was also just a general biter.)
Oh yeah, well I’ve got a girl in my soup!
It helps to make sure all the lights in the room are off.
So what happened?
The bird found its way out the window on its own.
But thanks for the advice, everyone!
And cover any mirrors.
Should it happen again.
Was it a blue canary? In the outlet by the lightswitch?
(Sorry, couldn’t resist!)
