Three of them to be exact. They were under alot of plants we have in the back. I dont think they were born there, they looked maybe a few days old. I guess the mother cat moved them there. When I went over to get a better look at them, she ran away. So much for protecting her young. Anyways two are dark and the third is almost a badge color. Im not a cat lover but they did look cute all cuddeled up together. Well we just let them be, chances are she will move them again anyways.
Why not put out some food nearby, but not too close.
The mother will find it and maybe she will stick around.
This might give you the chance to catch the kittens when they are a little older and perhaps it will be possible to find home for them, or at least they could be neutered.
Many animal charities will pay for neutering and release back to their enviroment.
Lots of folk feed feral cats, and they become, well not tame, but approachable.
Life is hard on feral cats, anything you can do to keep their numbers under control helps improve it.
3lb of high explosives will sort that vermin problem.*

If they still appear abandoned in a few days, then by all means, keep that bowl of food going out there far from the house. Give the Mom a few more days, then vigorously try to capture said kittens and drive em STRAIGHT to the vet with whom you have already bonded by telephone and who knows you are going to be coming in with three feral kittens. They’ll be given shots, and a looking over.
Then, mazel tov !!! You now are the mommy/daddy of three cats !!
Cartooniverse
<anecdote>My father wanted to cut down a pine tree - for some reason - whatever. I was there to help out. Tree falls, squirrel nest is now vulnerably grounded. Mamma squirrel scampered off to her sisters place.
There were little baby squirrels in the crook of the tree. We worked around the little critters all day, and then I donned new socks on my hands and put the critters back in the nest, and put the nest on top of my parent’s tool shed. Within fifteen minutes Mom was carrying them off to her sisters or in-laws or wherever.

Your mamma cat was likely a stray and there’ll be more kitty-stray cats around.
