Where are most thermometers which tell you the outside temperature located in a car?
NO! Damn… thats a good question…one ive been wanting to ask… my car thermometer… albeit… 2 including my roomates have temps that regularly read 5 degrees above natural temp.
BMW tends to place their sensor in one of the front brake air ducts; I don’t know about other cars.
I was recently in an accident in my Dodge Durango, and the losers at the body shop bolted the thermometer sensor back on in the wrong place. They put it behind the radiator, instead of in front of it, causing the temperature to read 30-50 degrees higher than it was. I knew driving home in rush hour traffic was hell, but I really started to wonder when the temperature read 147 F!
Anyway, look just behind the grill, IN FRONT OF anything else, such as a radiator, A/C condensor, oil cooler, etc. Mine was a small (1" square) device with a 2-wire cable going to it and a bracket attached.
