A vibrator I would recognise - but a butt plut? I would wonder what sort of a pipe bung I was looking at.
Why do you need to fiind that at garage sales?
My FIL gave me his copy not long after I got married…
Go to enough yard sales, you’ll see just about everything that is legal to sell.
While you can usually find a ton of LPs at garage sales, it’s surprisingly to find an actual working LP player. I know because I’ve been trying to find one for the past year. And if you do spot one, the needle will be missing, the belts will be shot, or the speakers won’t work.
And yes, yes, I realize I can buy a Crosley on Amazon for about $100, but I’m a cheapskate.
I once accompanied my wife to a yard sale…the guy must have worked for a firm that made tschokes for other companies (keychains, glasses, coffee mugs, etc.).
The guy had cases of this junk-imagine serving your guests with mugs emblazoned with “Harold’s Funeral Service”-etc…gaahh!
Actually, I bought a big box-o-porn at a garage sale a few years ago. The box was duct taped shut, labeled “adult movies” in sharpie. The woman’s husband had died and she wanted to sell this box full of porn. But she wouldn’t let anyone open it. She was embarrassed.
Her sale was just about over, but the box of porn was unsold. It was marked $300. I told her she would never sell it for that much without allowing inspection. She agreed, but couldn’t. I offered her $20, she accepted, and I took the box home.
Apparently, the late mister was into huge boobs, hard anal, and barely legal videos. The box was crammed full of dvds. I watched a few. I ended up taking them (in a pillowcase) to SantaCon last year. I passed them out to adults who, in my estimation, had been naughty.
It’s so hip and funny that the cartoons used to get passed around via fax.
I have seen viobrators and sex toys at a garage sale… “left by a former room mate” - or so they said…
Good working tools - yes (got a nail gun in the garage … bought it for $5)
Valuable items - yes… Got a ceramic Nipper Dog (RCA “His Master’s Voice” Dog) from the 1950’s. paid $5… worth much more…
Lab Microscope - paid $3 (probably do not want to check the serial number too closely)
Haida Wood Carving - appraised at $600, paid $2
things I havent seen - (yet)
large flat screen TV’s
