Somebody told me that they do that to “fool” the targeted marketing. For example, one friend, despite being male, single, and straight, is not interested in seeing all those ads from the True matchmaking service with the photos and videos of sexy young women, and found that listing his age as being several hundred years old made them stop appearing.
Though I’m not sure how he made such an old age appear, since you have to select your birthdate from popup menus that only go back to 1906.
I reconnected with the hot redhead who took my virginity lo these many years ago!
I joined MySpace primarily to keep in touch with people I was in a zombie movie with.
I have started to derive a strange amount of people from denying spammers who send friends requests. I love to move the cursor over the “Deny” button, say “DENIED!!!” in a real purposeful, authoritative way, and click. It gives me a feeling of power.
How are these errors “unexpected” when I’m guaranteed to see them regularly every time I visit MySpace? And what exactly is your “technical group” doing?
Any “friend request” expressing interest in me because the sender saw my page and “thinks I look cute” can be safely discarded, since not only is the photo not of me, it isn’t even a picture of a human being.
Everybody wants to be your friend. Who are you people?
It’s a good place for bands to post info and songs. Any band should definitely be on MySpace.
I think I finally had to block messages except for people that know my first name, too much spam. They really need to fix that.
Oh, and I’ve toyed with online dating sites a little over the years but I’ve had more interested girls (the legit ones) from MySpace than anything else.
