Somehow I missed this meme. Very funny. Oh, and my werewolf name is Moon Howler – pretty cool!
Jeanne Calment was a fraud.
Yes, I know she has been thoroughly researched and vetted, and has been confirmed to have been truly 122 by people with much more in the way of resources that I have. But I still don’t buy it.
In 1994, the city of Arles inquired about Calment’s personal documents, in order to contribute to the city archives. However, reportedly on Calment’s instructions, her documents and family photographs were selectively burned by a distant family member, Josette Bigonnet, a cousin of her grandson
You may be right.
That, and while it is possible for a person to die of natural causes at age 36, as officially happened with Yvonne, it seems implausible that it would happen with the daughter of the oldest-lived human ever. You’d expect at least some degree of correlation.
I’ve got another one.
I’m certain that the reason that Benedict XVI “retired” as pope was because he had been the point person in the Vatican for covering up the stories of sex abuse within the church. There was fear that an investigation could lead to him, and that was untenable if he was the pontiff.
So they had to pick another guy, and went with a (relatively speaking) liberal type to stop further prying. That’s how we got Francis.
I believe that Trump would have won no matter who was running against him. Not for political reasons though
Since Truman, only two elected presidents were the same party as their predecessor.
- LBJ, who was incumbent
- Bush Sr., who was riding Reagan’s coattails
Obama was a wonderful president, but not the Teflon president that Reagan was.
My reasoning:
There are x% voters who will always vote, and always vote their party. That percentage is almost certainly about the same for the two major parties. That leaves the outcome of the election to who decides to come(or not come) vote. In the mid-term, the incumbent has the advantage of familiarity, but when their 2nd term is up, both candidates are on even footing, but the opposing party will get more voters who are mad at the government, while the current party are going to lose voters who are mad at the government
that’s where I stopped reading and smiled agreement.
