My boss LOOOOves these ridiculous gigantic gourmet cupcakes.
I would prefer a Little Debbie Swiss Roll.

Velveeta.
I’m in Wisc. I buy cheese. Different kinds of cheese. Blocks, slices, shredded, tubs, logs of string cheese and bags of cheese curds. Did I mention I’m in Wisc?
I also buy velveeta. Velveeta melts nicely without lumps or grease and mixes with everything I cook it with. Way more versatile than actual cheese.
Regional brand potato chips. Cheaper than the national brands. A little greasier, but that keeps me from absentmindedly eating a whole bag while watching a movie or football game.
My grandma bought Brooks Tangy. You’ve given me a nostalgic moment - I miss them both (the ketchup and Grandma).
Have you tried Tabasco (brand) ketchup?
Your proven good taste in ketchup gives me confidence to take your peanut butter recommendation.
BTW, your ‘peanuttier’ reminds me of an episode of the ‘Barney Miller’ show; someone vandalized a pickle Co. because they said their pickles were “Ko, Ko, Kosherist”.
Their deep dish pizza is kinda tasty.
Kraft Mac & Cheese- better than everything other than the baked stuff.
Rescue cats are the* best *cats.
Do you want extra e-coli lettuce or our special hepatitis sauce with that sir?
Ditto cheap-ass croissants or Pillsbury crescent rolls with tons of butter.
I was shocked that Kroger cheese is just as good as the other cheeses such as Kraft or Sargentos.
Ruffles. Lays if necessary. The gourmet chips are twice as expensive and half as tasty.
I don’t know how non-homemade pizzas are ranked (I make my own crust and pizza sauce so that’ll win) but Pizza Hut is always ranked pretty low but I love it.
Diet Rally Soda, the generic brand diet cola from Giant.
Target’s Market Pantry extra crunchy reduced fat peanut butter, although it hasn’t been stocked in the stores in my county for some time. The peanuts aren’t quite as processed and are a little drier than the name brands, and I can taste a toasted, almost burnt quality to them. It’s a shame I can’t find it anymore.
That’s because they are.
Not big on the inferior quality. Life is too short.
But a bargain, that’s different. I like them.
Speaking of that, while I like grated, fresh parmesan on some things, for a simple plate of pasta and tomato sauce, I like the Kraft parmesan in the green shaker - the stuff looks like sawdust (and probably is), but there is something about the texture and consistency that is so satisfying there.
I rotate through different types of “favorite” pen – for whatever reason, coming back to a pen type I haven’t used a while so it feels a little different but familiar is really nice–but the really cheap Bic Cristal (the hexagonal clear ones) are always in my rotation. All my other “favorite” pen types are $2-3/pen, which is still not pricey but is a whole different category. But for my money, the Cristal is just a lovely consistent pen.
This. I’ve had croissants from Bouchon. I like the Costco specials better.
And Harry’s are better razors than Gillette. There, I said it.
Like another previous poster. A double edge BIC will last 2 weeks at least. A can of cheap shaving cream, or a bit of soap and I’m good to go.
Or even, those throw away razors that you can get in hotels.
I have a pretty medium beard. A big difference I think, is that I shave in the shower.
I like the greasy goodness of a frozen pizza. But I really prefer the Culinary Circle store brand at Supervalu over the Digiornoor Freschetta brands. And the CC pizzas are frequently $3 cheaper than the premium brands - or more when on sale.
But in cases where you have tried products at markedly different price points in the same category…
(I don’t think Kraft cheese or “imitation baguette” rolls count as superior examples.)
Ah no, if you wanna go bargain but great for the price- Totino’s Party Pizza. No frozen pizza is better for even twice the price.
Target’s house brand (Market Pantry) rising crust pizza over DiGiorno rising crust pizza. Before I discovered Target’s pizza, I thought DiGiorno rising crust pizza was better than delivery. I like Target MP rising crust better because it has less tomato sauce and tastes slightly better. The fact that it’s s bit cheaper is a bonus.
Do you euthanize the pig before chopping down? Otherwise, he may chomp back.
Agreed. I prefer the cheap neon yellow mustard for most of my mustard needs, but I keep a jar of Poupon on hand in case QE2 happens to drop by unannounced (she’s nutty that way).
Tibby: “Ya want some Poupon on that slaw dog, Queenie?”
QE2: “Yes, Sir Tibby, the Royal We most certainly would like Grey Poupon on her majesty’s slaw dog!”
Tibby: *“OK, but don’t spill any on my tablecloth like you did last time, alright?” *
True story: My mother, who was an excellent cook in all respects, was terribly afraid of the “pop” from opening tubed biscuits. She would always recruit someone else (usually me) to do the dirty work of breaking them open.
…I miss my mom. MSRIP.
I prefer swimming with genu valgum gals (aka: knock-kneed). Leaves more to the imagination and presents more of a challenge.
Nuh-uh. She’d have Colman’s English Mustard:
[QUOTE=Wikipedia]
From 1855 the firm introduced its distinctive yellow packaging and bull’s head logo, and in 1866 was granted the Royal Warrant as manufacturers of mustard to Queen Victoria.[1] Her Majesty’s household still uses Colman’s today.

Considering Grey Poupon is Dijon mustard, a specific and distinct variant from yellow mustard (and not just a fancy version of the same product), I’m not sure this counts. To me, it’s kind of like saying this about mayo and Miracle Whip.
