Every time someone accuses this board of being a “hive mind” or “in lockstep”, I think back to a number of threads where there were opinions and long-held beliefs that were all over the place.
(By the way, most of the “hive mind” accusers are uncomfortable with people having independent views that aren’t part of their hive…)
I don’t think that’s accurate, I think many people that carry unpopular opinions on the Dope run into a locomotive of people that hold the opposite (or very different) opinions and get completely trucked into the wayside. Of course many of them are also trolls, so YMMV.
