Things that professional sport learnt from social sport.

Watching the fifth Ashes Test it occurs to me that many years ago “real” cricketers never wore sunglasses but in any social game you could see fieldsmen with sunnies, and often a beer. Now at least half of the fieldsmen wear shades even during a Test.

Has this happened elsewhere? Has anything else non-professional crept into a professional sport?

Well, the playground antics of certain NFLers come to mind. Not a good thing.
Some NBAers, too, now that I think about it.
