Things that were on the tip of your tongue?

So I was trying to remember the name of a street from where I am from last night and only figured it out this morning

So wondering what tip of the tongue moments you have had?

As I get older, I find that I have fewer “tip of the tongue” moments; instead, my brain will come up with an answer that I know is the wrong answer, but no matter how hard I think, I can’t come up with any other answer. For example:

Me: Hey brain, what was the name of that actress who fell off a boat and drowned, way back at the start of the 80’s?
Brain: Nathaniel Wood.
Me: No, that’s wrong. I know that’s wrong. What was her name? She was married to Richard Wagner at the time.
Brain: Nathaniel Wood.
Me: No, that’s wrong. “Nathaniel” isn’t even a girl’s name. What was her name? She was filming a movie called Brainstorm, which had to be delayed and re-edited because she died.
Brain: Nathaniel Wood.
Me: No! I told you already, that’s wrong! I’m pretty sure it was an “N” name, though. Perhaps it was Nadine? Naomi? Nicole? Noreen? Naomi? Natasha?
Brain: Nathaniel Wood.
Me: NO!!!

I’ve talked to some older friends & family about this, and they’ve assured me that it is in fact a consequence of getting old. :smack:

They become increasingly frequent with old age. I can gednerfally bring somethming to mind by cycling through the alphabet, and filtering for letters hat seem to be in the word.

I go through this every time I try to remember Clive Owen’s name. The first thing that pops into my head is “Colin”, and I start running through the list of Colins: Colin Farrell, Colin Firth, Colin Powell… nope, none of those. Then as I keep trying to remember more Colins, I suddenly remember “oh wait, it’s not Colin, it’s something else, also starts with a C?..” and my brain flails around blindly until somehow it latches on to “Clive! Clive Owen!” Yeesh…

Oh, nevermind.
