I was a bad enough singer that I was politely discouraged from joining a grade three choir. I’m guessing you have to be pretty bad for that to happen. But I like to sing, know the words to thousands of songs, and am a menace in a karaoke bar after a couple beers (although I do not often go to karaoke bars).
This is me on both counts.
Playing video games. On a scale of 1 to ten with 1 being someone who never played video games before I’d probably be a 2 or possibly a 3 if only because of shear stubbornness.
Shooting, Got very good and as I age, i’m going down hill fast but I still love to do it.
Play Bridge, do pretty good but Dad and one sister I will never be close to them.
Soccer. I went the referee route after I found I could not play and the kids leagues needed Referee’s. Was too close to ‘old’ when I started so I never got past ‘State One’.
Photography, I suck but I still do it because I like it. I do love digital cameras because that made it affordable for me.
Play music - electric guitar, bass, drums. I own a guitar and a bass and sold my drums. I’ve taken lessons on all three. I was over the moon when I learned to play Alice Cooper’s “Gimme” and Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” on guitar well enough to play along with the class band or the music video.
But that only lasted as long as I practiced, and I always seemed to find something else to do rather than practice. Now the guitar and bass sit in their cases in my room and I haven’t touched them in years.
le sigh…
Got you beat!
When I sing, my own wife and son tell me to shut up.
