Glad you had fun. Toronto does have some pretty good dining but did you not get up to Montreal?
Yep, Montreal seems a bit run-down compared to Toronto though both are nice cities.
Montreal has had a bad couple of decades. It’s getting better.
Seconded. Come the the Charles this weekend! I’m rowing in it for the first time ever and I’m insanely excited. If you just happen to be there Sat, my race is the club eights, starting at about 1pm and I’ll be the redhead in the bow of the Austin, TX boat. I can’t wait to get up there!
Google Boston Bike Tours. My wife & I went on a tour a few weeks back & loved it. Great touring of historical sites, The Fenway area, MIT on the Charles & Beacon Hill
I lived about 12 years in each. Montreal first, then Toronto through my 20’s. I liked Toronto as well back then. Lately I’m pining for Montreal more. It’s got a character, flavour and attitude that Toronto never quite realized. And yeah, I find Montreal is getting better as well. But the roads still suck.
I saw them setting up for the Head of the Charles (hospitality tents and such) on my drive to work this morning.
This sounds like an opportunity for some inter-regional doper hospitality. If you need a local guide, let me know.
And in any case, good luck.
I wish it wasn’t such a quick trip (I actually looked into extending my reservation but Travelocity wanted over $1000 to change it. ). I’ll be flying in just in time for a practice row Friday, race on Sat, and out on Sun. If I’m lucky, I may be able to squeeze in a trip to Filene’s or Newberry( sp?) St. (yes, I know it’s shallow)
Anyway, thanks for the luck. I’m not getting any work done today 'cause I’m so excited.
