Things you are sure will happen in Harry Potter #6. (Open Spoilers!)

[QUOTE=Rysto]
IThe real problem that I’m going to run into is that there are 4 of us in the house who will want to read the book right away. /QUOTE]Any of you guys have a pleasant reading voice?

Argh! Just to show I am not totally incapable of coding:

Oooo me too, and I cannot tell you how many times I’ve tried to decipher Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum.

OK, now you’ve lost me. (A fairly easy task to accomplish, I’ll grant you.)

Neville Longbottom’s (insane) parents keep giving him bubblegum wrappers(according to his gran, he has enough to paper his room by now). The last one he got was “Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum.” We don’t know if the rest of them were the same.

This may be a red herring, though. Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum got a short mention in GoF(I believe it was one of Harry’s guesses to Dumbledore’s password just before the Pensieve scene). Either that, or JKR’s been working on that clue for some time now.

Thaaaaaat’s right. Forgot that part. Thanks.

Im thinking Dumbledore will die, but somehow pass his knowledge of magic along to Harry. Because no matter what the prophecy says, Harry just doesnt have the knowledge to beat old Voldy. Dumbledore has the knowledge, but he lacks the special power Harry has to overcome Voldy.

This passing of knowledge to Harry would instantly put Harry at Voldy’s level, and make Harry one of the most powerfull wizards around.

Think about it!

The fact that Dumbledore will die is moot. The fact that dead characters often interreact with the living should make it clear. Besides, there is an awful lot of references to phoenixes!! Hmmm.

Roy Greenhilt, of The Order of the Stick: “I dream of the day when I will learn to stop asking questions to which I will regret learning the answers.”

Everyone knows it’s an anagram for “Gold Bribe Below St. Mungo’s”

Well, of course we all know it; we’re just wondering WTH it means.

I’m with scott_plaid…read out loud! Mr. Frail and I did it with the entirety of OotP and still made it through in about 4-5 days. We’re planning to do the same with HBP.

Say, anyone in the Chicago area going to Spellbound? I don’t have the link, but it’s supposed to be the biggest HP release party in the US. So I’ll either be there or in Indiana trying to buy it an hour early.

As others have said, I don’t think Dumbledore is going to make it to the end. I think Percy will die too, doing something noble.

I made the mistake of getting my Dad, my brother and my fiance all into Harry Potter. Trying to stop them stealing the book while I’m still reading it is going to be quite interesting.

Ah, I’m sort of glad I’m the only HP nerd in my family. No one to fight over the books with.
I’m going to Spellbound! I started a thread about that a few days ago, actually.
Here’s the link.

I’ve got the books here, but time constraints are leading me to consider watching the movies instead – is this heresy? I just don’t know whether I’ll have time to re-read all the books in time for the new one.

What say you, O Teeming Millions?

Read the books! The movies only go up to three anyway. I’d say just reread the fifth one if you don’t have enough time to read all of them.

Thans everyone, for the positive replys, but…

I don’t understand. A young girl would rather see Harry date some other person then Cho Chang, so she writes a story about it. That is shipping. What is to dislike about it?

What you describe is not too awfully bad.

The trouble comes when you involve more… esoteric pairings.

Just. Don’t. Ask.

I was thinking the very same thing…there has been endless background talk about goblins and goblin wars, but besides banking and trying to extract debt from Bagman, what are they doing?

You know, I thought Flitwick was all goblin, not just part (he looks like a goblin to me). Maybe this has been talked about in some other thread or forum, but I was caught short that Flitwick will be revealed to be PART goblin…how could this be any secret (and he just can’t very well say he has small bones, now, can he…well, he could, but, you know)

I don’t know how the elf contingent will move toward the idea freedom, of work for pay, etc. Dobby seems to have embraced the idea, but it doesn’t seem to evoke much interest from any other elves.

Just a thought about the Hermione/Ron pairing…it seems to mirror the relationship between Ron’s parents (very strong woman, softer man).

Percy’s defection has really bothered me and I do hope he does somehing to redeem himself before the end. I was surprised to see him so blinded by ambition that he would hurt his parents so…hopefully a little reality will wake him up.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread and can’t wait til the book it out! I’ve got mine ordered from Overstock.com.

If memory serves, Tonks is 25 or so.
