I tried to find the cheerios advert that had a song in it - it wnet something like cheery oats, cheery rice and wheat, - - - , cheery good to eat, their — and delicious on so. Im sure it exists and it is not my imagination!
Also a picture of the hoff with only roses covering his favourite area. It was a pic that went round inboxs at valentine. It said something like for those who didnt get a card remember… the hof still loves you.
There are many more things that I couldnt find that has slipped my mind, Ill be back!
I want to find the Looney Tunes episode, “What Makes Daffy Duck,” and/or a clip of Daffy Duck singing Ted Fio Rito’s “King for a Day” from that episode. I’ve found two recordings of other people singing that song (one from the '20s and one from the '50s), but they sing-speak it and I can’t get a good idea of the melody. Only Daffy can help me, and I’ve looked for years to no avail.
I read a book in the early 90s about a doctor who set up practice in a very poor area of a city. He talked a lot about the advantages that middle-class people have just by growing up middle-class, for instance, a trust in medicine/doctors. The poor people he treated often wouldn’t take the medicine he prescribed, even if he gave it to them free, because they just didn’t believe it would do any good.
I’d love to read that book again, but I can’t remember the title. I’ve done lots of searches, including here, and nobody knows it
