Things you don't "get" anymore

That’s mine too! I have one that’s titled “My Faves” and one titled “Christmas”.

You’d like The Martian, then. No romance, not much interpersonal conflict. There’s not even a “bad guy” - the whole plot is the protagonist’s struggle to stay alive on Mars, and NASA’s attempts to get him home.

Well there’s your mistake. How tf am I going to play Minecraft at a moment’s notice? I’m at grandma’s house all Thanksgiving weekend and all I have is my mom’s phone. I can’t play Madden, my algebra teacher is like 3 steps away. It’s Monday night; like Dad’s everrrrrrrrrrrrr going to turn off the Packers so I can play Skyrim.

Sus, fam.

That’s a completely different thing. The caps/no-caps text is called sarcasm text. It’s used to mock the direct speech of others. The /s is to mark your own speech as sarcastic. Examples:

Your friend claims he’ll bowl a perfect 300 game and immediately throws a gutter ball: “I’m GoNnA bOwL a PeRfEcT gAmE!” See? You’re imitating his words but sarcastically. It’s similar to that deep, slow voice you use to give the impression of being an idiot. “Duuuurrrr, I bang screw wid hammur.” Like that. You don’t go “I’m gonna bowl a perfect game /s” because it’s a direct or paraphrased quote of theirs, not yours. The /s makes no sense.

But your ugly friend says he’ll ask the hot girl to prom? “That’ll go well /s”. You’re not imitating their speech, so you don’t use the sarcasm text. You use the /s.

I completely agree.

They used to be super cheap, too. When I was on a budget I could get quite a few fried wings for the cost of a 2 piece special.

Sigh. I remember when wings would go on sale for 29 cents a pound. I’d say those were the days, but in those days I was broke enough to really appreciate anything at 29 cents a pound.

I recall my college days …

1 Big Mac $1.00
2 Big Macs: 99c (for the two)

and boy, did I eat a lot of cheap big macs in those days …

fwiw: 1992-93 ish

Well, not no romance, but what there is is a romance subplot of a couple of crew members (and it gets maybe 3 minutes of screen time (complete guess, probably less than that actually)).

A man living alone with no other company than a potato? The romance is implied, man!

There was a scene when Lewis is reallocating berths aboard the Hermes, and reveals that she knows Beck and Johansson are sleeping together; Martinez high-fives them both for “getting down in space”. But it was left on the cutting-room floor. You can find it on YouTube, though.
