Things you notice but figure only YOU appreciate...

So my three year old recently got one of those Hot Wheels cars - this one was Francesco Bernoulli - a Formula One car character from the Cars 2 movie. I am an F1 fan, and was admiring the way the manufacturers got the basic design right in spirit, when I noticed that the exhaust outlets are 100% consistent with the 2012 regulations. Previous years’ regulations would have meant a different physical layout.

A minor detail, but fancy that. A kid’s toy model car faithful to the regulations. And I’m betting only a handful of folk in the world would actually notice…

I saw the original Woodstock movie when it first came out.
Then, I watched it again at a bargain second-run theatre.

The first time I saw it, one of the things that struck me was that every single edit in the film was made exactly, precisely on the beat of the music playing at the time.

When I saw the second-run version, it was obvious that the film had been broken and spliced several times and the edits were not longer precisely in sync. I don’t know how many people noticed that detail about the original film.
