During quite a stressful time during my finals at uni, my then girlfriend said I would occasionally sing ‘Only Original Alpen’ which was a current television ad. No idea I was doing it until she said.
I’m doing it now, tapping my fingers on the computer as I “think”. My college roommate pointed it out to me and here I am, blah-blah years later, still doing it. I’m sure it’s annoying to DH but he’s never mentioned it, wonderful human that he is.
There are a couple of phrases I apparently say repeatedly over the course of my day. The only reason I am now aware of it is because our African Grey Parrot has learned to mimic me saying them.
When I give the dogs treats, I say, “There ya go!”. When I walk into the sunroom I say, “Hey buddy!” to the bird.
I initially denied saying these things, but it’s hard to deny when the bird acts like a tape recorder.
