Think of a city in Pennsylvania other than Philadelphia or Pittsburgh

Next one that came to mind was Huntingdon; my grandparents lived there for years.

York, because it’s my mother-in-law’s hometown, and we visited it last summer.

Then Hanover, because it’s my father-in-law’s hometown, and we visited there, too.

Since we’re giving restaurant recommendations/giggling at Blue Ball and Intercourse, when in Hanover, try the Famous Hot Weiner. It’s not all that great, but it would probably make Revtim snicker.

…and Mr. Rogers’.

Harrisburg, of course
(my hometown).

The others I heard of most while growing up:
Lancaster
York
Lebanon

Easy. My ex-wife was born and raised in Kittanning (actually, I think she may have been born in nearby Indiana).

I’m well familiar with Breezewood (we pass through there on the way to my relatives’ places), but it would never have made my list, because I hadn’t even realized it was a city. I thought it was just an intersection of freeways.

Allentown, from the Billy Joel song

I’ve visited many Pennsylvania cities in my life but for whatever reason the first one that came to mind was one that I have never visited: Altoona.

Without looking: Allentown, Kutztown, Brown, Moosic (where the cows come to sing), Blue Balls, Intercourse, Plymouth Meeting.

(Family grew up there)

Altoona.

Harrisburg

Berlin

HOMER CITY!

Indiana
Clymer
Home
Benezette
Tidioute
Tionesta
Driftwood
Sinnemahoning
Luciusboro

they’re getting smaller as I go

Blawnox, the ugliest-named town in the world, which I mention at just about every opportunity in the Fake Trivia game.

Gettysburg

Bryn Mawr and Haverford are the first two that come to mind. (I went to college there.)

New Castle

I do live there. King of Prussia, which is a few minutes from me, is not a city. It’s not even a municipality. It has no government of it’s own. It’s a census-designated place and mailing address in Upper Merion, which is a township.

Many of the places mentioned in this thread aren’t cities. They’re townships, boroughs, villages, etc. or, like K of P, not even municipalities.

Gettysburg

Or how about a city where a big Civil War battle was fought?

Springfield.
