I’ll put $1 on #4. Any takers? Should this be in the Games Room? Hey, it’s a long summer. Have to do something till we can bid for naming rights.
I was hoping to learn that baby ocelots are called something cool, like ocelittles, but they’re just called kittens. Oh well. Go, Kitten #4! (or whichever).
Five day - it looked at one point like they were going to have to do three day, but the lil’ ones came through and sped up the dividing.
I dunno if I want a nursery theme. But I have already gotten a print of this comic; as soon as it seems clear that yes, things are happening, we will be framing it and it goes in the second bedroom.
Heh. Yeah, I anticipate a great flurry of stick-peeing in about a week’s time.
Kitten #4 thanks you for your support. As the Longshot Kitten, she pays out at 15:1. Please note that there is no way of telling which of the Uternauts actually turn into any resulting child.
Actually - I think I’ll refrain from thinking of them as kittens, for right now. That might cause them to all decide to implant, since kittens tend to come in litters. That would be BAD.
The IVF cost about $16k, part of which came from an inheritance from my dad and part of which came from my folks. We had previously spent about $5k on failed IUIs (much cheaper because they were covered by my insurance).
We’ve been trying-by-not-preventing for about three years, but we actually started trying aggressively about a year ago. That’s when we started the IUI process…which didn’t work too well. We didn’t much like the doctor, either. Our IVF doc, on the other hand, is incredibly awesome and I will totally recommend him to ANYONE who is considering assisted reproduction in the Southern CA area.
Toddlers at a birthday party.
Fresh sap.
Stepping on a slug barefoot while fetching the morning paper.
Improperly secured soda in a motor vehicle on leather upholstery.
The face of an unskilled watermelon eater on a hot summer day.
Grandma’s bowl of ribbon candy in the front hall, before it gets dusty but after it has all welded into one solid gooey lump.
By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicket this way comes!
I wish we’d done that. We were shown a picture of her as a blastocyte (the only one of our 4 eggs collected to make it to transfer date) a few minutes before I had to go into have the transfer done. I was a bit muddleheaded and didn’t think I was allowed to ask for a copy of the photo, and I really regret it now.
Per the blood test I took on Friday, it seems we have achieved at least some level of stickiness. Now for another test tomorrow, to make sure my hormone levels are continuing to rise appropriately…the doctor said that at this point I’m about 80% likely to be able to do this thing.
Congratulations! Did they give you an hCG level, or just tell you that the number was OK? If you feel like obsessing about the numbers, http://www.betabase.info is for you!
