Did anyone call yet? If I don’t hear anything soon I’m thinking of contacting the FBI about this. Now it would be better comming from tuckerfan or someone who worked there. If not, then I would think a SDMB should report it but if not I feel it’s all our duties to report this (and I just might).

I bet Tuckerfan has reported this and I bet the FBI asked Tuckerfan to keep quiet while the investigation takes place.
Yeah, it would concern me if “Farmer Brown” came into a loan office and started asking those questions.
It makes no sense for someone to say they want to be a charter pilot AND a crop duster at the same time… they’re two different disciplines, for one. It’s like saying you want to learn to fly to airliners but not land them. It doesn’t jibe.
You don’t use twin engine airplanes for crop dusting.
You dont buy a twin engine and modify it for crop dusting. You buy a single-engine and modify it, or you buy and Ag Cat or similiar aircraft designed for crop dusting.
I expect the government worker in question isn’t a pilot, and, of course, it was before Sept 11. But now… yeah, weird stuff like that needs to be checked out.
This is why I think tuckerfan (btw does that mean a fan of Tuckermans Raviene?) should, then it falls to the SDMB admins. I know someone posting on a msg board doesn’t carry much weight but we are told to report anything suspicious and this certainly falls into that catagory.
Also if this results in another attack on our country and I did have the opportunity to at that very least file a report but didn’t I would feel partly to blame.
I’ve let the FBI know, you folks can calm down now. (Haven’t heard back from 'em, so no info as to what’s they’re doing. Nor have I heard anything from my friend saying that they’ve showed up at his work place asking questions.)

Tuck most likely, the gov’t gets tons of these a day. Suspicious person this that the other thing. BUt it is all most likely put in a database and sorted like crazy for consistencies. They probably won’t show up in your buddies shop and ask for the video of that day, but they may notify the agent closest to there to keep their eyes open. Even though every Fed in the whole country has their eyes WIDE open right now…
Every little bit counts. Also you bet your ass SMBD has been and most likely continues to be searched. Just doing a brief top layer search of the boards would alert the feds to investigate…

Depends, is Farmer Brown licensed to fly, does he have a permanent address and a reported income? Does he own any land, is he acting suspisious. You see, that last one is the important one, are they acting in a manner that does not connect with their stated purpose. Race does not come into the question, actions however do.
Maybe it’s the California resident in me, but I’d bet that these are simply papers for immigration purposes that given the current climate these people want their copies of for their own documentation reasons, just in case.
Or not.
