This christmas, what are you _giving_?

DeHusband: A Black&Decker lawn care kit thingy.
DeMom: A Lennox Ornament and miscellaneous crap.
DeDad: A Gift card to Harbor Freight.
DeSister: (Birthday - Lennox Ornament & Sequence Game) Book & bath crap
DeSpawn: Books and Jewelry
DeBrother: All 6 Harry Potter books and other crap
DeDeacon (AKA my other brother the intolerant cheap-ass twit): A combo salad shooter/salad spinner. To he that doesn’t buy fresh vegetables because they’re so expensive. Worst gift ever. Bwa ha ha ha.
DeBoss: A flashlight that will track a blood trail. Best gift ever.

We draw names, thankfully, so my list is relatively short. Also, I’ve agreed to take care of picking out gifts for the women/girls while my husband is responsible for the boys/men. We drew more women/girls but that’s okay by me.

Mom: Teaming up with the sisters to get her a new microwave. Her old one is older than me.
Niece #1: Old Navy half-zip fleece pull-over, Gameboy Advance game.
Niece #2: Guitar music, guitar accessories & ?
Niece #3: Lego blocks & ?
Mom-in-law: Sweater and handmade stepping stone. Possibly a necklace too.
Sister-in-law: Sweater.
Grandma #1: Wall sconces and book.

My husband will take care of my dad and his dad. I just have my step-mom to find something for yet, as well as a couple more things for the nieces. Oh, and the other grandma. The one who’s hard to buy for.

For my Mom and Grandma, the same thing they get every year: framed photos of the kids. The tradition started when the boy was born, so they have ten years worth of pictures. I’m glad I thought of doing these, because Mom and Grandma were always so tough to buy for.

For the kids: iPods. Not the really good ones, but they’ll be happy.

For my husband: Sirius satellite radio for his car. I’m really excited about this one, because I usually can’t think of anything good to get him. Presents in years past have included a fluffy bathrobe and a measuring cup. :smack:

The various children in the family are getting books (whether they like it or not). Very young kids are getting Mo Willem’s Pigeon books, older ones are getting Charlotte’s Web or Mr. Popper’s Penguins.

Now all I have left to do are gifts for people at work and teacher gifts for the kids.

Gift cards for my friends (which is a waste since we always give each other the same denomination, often to the same stores, but no one else wants to stop).

My mother wants an mp3 player, probably a CD and DVD for my sister, and who knows what for my father and grandparents.

Hess Trucks for both boys

Video games for eldest

Sizzlers with fat track for youngest

Creative mp3 player for the wife.

Wii (if i can find it) for the boys
Other than that, I intend to blatantly cherry-pick from the ideas posted here. (And thank you!)

Husband - not sure yet. I may get him a new TV - but I’m not sure. Definitely a new flannel, some t-shirts, jeans, maybe some boots.

Son - already have two shirts for him, getting him some Rob Zombie “stuff” (I know not what yet) and a gift card to Gamestop maybe.

Mom - Eli’s cheesecake. The sampler most likely.

Secret Santa #1 - probably a nice robe, or a nice pair of PJs. I don’t know her from Adam really (she’s my BIL’s girlfriend’s daughter) but she’s a “girly girl” from what I can tell.

Secret Santa #2 - something. I don’t know what - he’s my nephew in law and 21 - and in a band that is apparently REALLY successful - so I thought I’d get something involving that - but I don’t know what yet.

Dog - Big bone.

Misc. Friends/Neighbors/People - Spice cake and spiced nuts.

My mom I’ll get her gift cards to the local grocery store, since her house is so full of crap, I’d feel guilty buying one more thing for her to pile in the house.

Hallboy is getting shirts, 2 Weird Al CD’s and probably a Bionicle thing he’s had his eye on for awhile.

Hallgirl1 (and her boyfriend) are getting a really deep laundry basket (they come to my house to do their laundry and always bring it in Hefty bags), an over the shower door caddy, a cool looking Asian vase, a little food processor, and a carbon monxide detector. (I bought one for my house and I’ve suddenly become paranoid about stuff like that.)

Hallgirl2 is getting Walmart gift certificates, since that’s the only store that’s in Minot for which I can buy gift cards.

Everyone else can forget it–I’m not dumping tons of money on buying “stuff”.

I’m getting a fire extinguisher for my dad. Seriously. It’s got the usual hazards of chemicals, sawdust, and dry lumber – and then he does brilliant things like putting an abrasive blade on his radial arm saw to cut big chunks of steel (lots of sparks). And the wiring is a bit faulty. Oh, and he also has a good-sized oxy-acetylene rig in there.

My mom is getting some exotic cookbook she specifically requested.

My sister is getting… some sort of book/dvd/cd. Unless I can come up with something better.

I just sent off the package to the States. I knitted a hat for Mom, like one I made myself last year (which she admired) but in her choice of colors. Dad will be getting a Discworld book and a calendar with troll pictures. Nephew#9 (age 7) will be getting a Hama bead set and a magnetic construction toy set; Nephew#11 (age 4) is getting four unusual stuffed animals, including a stuffed spider. My sister is so going to kill me next time we’re on the same continent. I also enclosed a metric buttload of Norwegian chocolate goodness.

Siblings do not exchange gifts in either my family or fella bilong missus flodnak’s.

The elder young flodnak, aged 12 going on 30, will be getting the Xbox360 he’s been hinting about for, like, a year now, plus a Call of Duty 3 game for it. I’ve also ordered a new swim bag and towel for him (personalized with his name), and I think I’ll top it with a book, preferrably about political history or comparative politics since those are his passions right now. Bear in mind I never claimed to have normal children. Since his main present is so flashy, he’s getting a bit less under the tree than his baby brother this year.

The younger young flodnak, aged 6, will be getting new sheets for his bed (trust me, he’ll be excited, especially about the Lightning McQueen set), a Lego Star Wars II game for his PC, a personalized swim-bag-and-towel set, and at least one book and one toy or DVD. Still working on the details of his list.

Parents-in-law? No freaking clue as usual. They have everything, if only they could find it.
Niecephews? Nephews #1-7 and all three nieces probably just want money or a gift certificate, which is boring, but with sixteen niecephews to buy for I do appreciate how easy it makes shopping for them. Nephews #8, 10, 12, and 13, I’m not sure yet, but I’ll be seeing their moms and dads at a family party this weekend and sounding them out for ideas.
Fbmf? He’s promised me a list Real Soon Now.

I have next Monday off work and I’m hoping to get all shopping (that isn’t for food and other consumables) finished that day. I don’t really like shopping and the closer we get to Christmas, the more that slides from “don’t really like” towards “hate with the fire of a thousand suns”.
