This hasn't been pitted yet? Woman dies in hospital when 911 refuses her (Major RO)

Same here. I’ve had the opportunity to work with dozens of police departments and other law enforcement agencies, and for the most part, if someone in custody has so much as a scrape on the arm, the ambulance is gonna get called.

You stole my line.

I think it’s just another one of lee’s bullshit fantasies of how she’s soooo mistreated and abused. Am I the only one who notices this?

Well, they’re security guards. They probably don’t sit around bragging about the security they didn’t provide.

Yup, kinda leaning that way myself.

Ooh, now we’re getting there!

lee’s story sounds perfectly plausible to me. I can’t say I’ve ever noticed her post anything to make me doubt her, and I’ve been on this board since 2001.

But some posters’s reaction to her story sure makes it easy to believe that security guards can get away with that kind of behavior.

I am also at a loss. I can’t tell if you are delusional or if you are just lying about your Rhonda King experience.

What color is the sky in your world?

Yes, but you didn’t have to admit that you are a gullible imbecile. Kudos to you for taking the first step. You only have eleven more to go.

Yes, some do delight in exercising power over others, but it usually takes place in a setting where there is no one else around who can help, such as the case of the bartender & the off-duty cop. Are you trying to say that 6 security guards were beating you in the waiting room of an ER, and NO medical staff came to your aid? That, in fact, when you lost consciousness in the ER, that the security guards were left to handle the situation rather than medical staff?

Am I the only one who will henceforth see security guards looking all Snidely Whiplash-like while they plan their next attack?

It’s not plausible because any sane person would a) call the police and prosecute, b) sue the fuck out of the hospital c) what with the bruises and witnesses and her gravid state, win criminal and civil suits and d) be all over the news, very likely.

If lee’s story is true, and she never pressed charges or pursued it any further, she is either a moron or… it never happened. I’ll wait to see what, if anything, she says before I decide which.

The only saving grace to Lee’s story is Lee’s lifestyle. If I recall Lee has a family life that might be considered “freakish” by your standard average Joe. Many security guards are just that,. average Joes.

So here we have a pregnant woman lumbering around bitching about perfume and dying right where she stands followed by a man dressed as a woman (or is KellyM post-op?).

Me, I don’t care. But I could see your average American lash out at that.

Frankly, I think the point is moot because I don’t buy a word of it.

When I was twelve I was in the hospital because I got a boo-boo on my elbow, so the security guards threw a pillowcase over my head, dragged me into the basement, and beat me with socks filled with soap and pennies until I lost consciousness. When I woke up, the ER doctors had removed a kidney and half my left lung, and infected me with an experimental monkey virus. Later, the admissions staff took their turns prying out my teeth and plucking my nose hairs one by one. Then, the finance department forced me to move furniture. Finally, they threw me out a window right onto a squad car and the cops laughed and urinated on me. The media took pictures but they only show the film on their end-of-year blooper reels. So yeah, I find the story entirely reasonable.

Uncle Jim?!?!

I think an “Average Joe” reacting to that would be sort of lumbering in their interactions and doing things like calling **KellyM **“sir”. I don’t think they’d be beating an unconscious pregnant woman in the middle of a crowded ER.

In fact, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t actually beat a drugged-up junkie, either. They might restrain, because such scenes have the potential to turn ugly, but beating? :dubious:

Kudos to lee for the use of the word miasma. That’s one of the SAT words I specifically remember learning.

Okay, cure my ignorance…what does RO stand for?

Quick tip to lee - for top notch legal representation, I’d suggest an attorney whose record is as flawless as your own, a man of integrity, who can be trusted to tell the truth.
Such a man is currently seeking work, he’s in North Carolina, but will relocate. Nifong’s the name. 1-800-HORSHIT.

You got off lucky. The same thing happened to my best friend’s uncle’s step-sister’s third cousin’s paperboy’s 7th grade math teacher, except they also pulled out her toenails while making her watch reruns of The Facts of Life.

Not “The Facts of Life”! The horror, the sheer horror of it all!
