This is interesting. Saddam really did have WMD's.

Freeper and Newsmax are your “news” sources??? You’re even more fucking stupid than I thought.

Steady up there, lad. Friend Clothahump did include a reference from the widely respected Washington Times as well.

Oddly enough, our Pubbie brethren have not seen fit to trumpet this blistering revelation, as one might have expected. This recent trend towards bipartisan comity and a reluctance to rub the collective nose in the objective dog poo is commendable. Even though they could make enormous political advantage from such rock solid, irrefutable proof, they have restrained themselves in tactful silence. Either that, or they think its balderdash, sir, tommyrot.

Sigh.

No, fool, the Yahoo Search Engine is. I simply posted some of the hits.

If you don’t want to get laughed at you might want to evaluate before you post cites…just sayin

Then you are a bigger fool, that was a Google Vomit[sup]TM[/sup].

**tagos ** showed how silly you are when 2 of the links actually undermined your OP.

Does this mean if I type “Bush Lied” into the Yahoo search engine and get some hits that you would accept the veracity of the statement?

I would…

Y’know, if ever at some point Humpy suggests he isn’t going to renew his membership here, I’d like to start a collection on his behalf in order to maintain his posting privileges. His scrote-brained nonsense is always one of the highlights of my day.

[hijack]

Interesting site selection considering the US used it as a firing range. Just don’t go to the eastern tip of the island. I hear it’s still contaminated. (wikipedia)

If it’s trademarked, does that mean I’m entitled to collect royalties?

Oh man, we are definitely losing ground in the fight against ignorance.

Google Vomit. I like that term.

The guy blindly posting links is calling somebody else a fool. Now that’s good irony.

Band Name!

Yeah thanks for the heads up, that’s why we chose the sight. We’re gonna be on the other end of the island. We know some people in Vieques.

Who’ve I been shooting at? I punched anyone in this debate so far? I want peace, but I don’t expect that to be an end to conflict, my vision of peace is more one where nations don’t roll tanks through other countries anymore. I don’t expect even violence to go away, but what I do expect is that if people wanna talk a big game about how great America is, then America needs to start living up to it’s fucking values, something it is roundly failing at.

I don’t think getting angry at people on a message board violates any of this. Besides I’m not a pacifist, I’m not against violence as a means for reconciling conflicts. I am specifically against American Imperialism cuz it’s making the country that I love and I believe in look really fucking bad. In short, there’s a better way.

Mellivora capensis, my comment about being peaceful wasn’t specifically limited to mswas’s MO in this thread, but I have found that this thread does serve as a good example of how he seems to defeat some of his principles.

I admire his compassion for Arabs and all victims of this war. I share his pacifism generally.

I know that this is the Pit and sometimes I take full advantage of it myself. I’m not opposed to the use of any words in particular. I’ve used them all, I think. But generally speaking, pacifists try to avoid attacking others with words and deeds as well as with weapons. They try not to think of themselves as authorities on other people’s motives and thinking. And they tend not to let other people’s opinions of them matter all that much.

Part of mswas’s problem in communicating has to do with what seems to be a basic hostility toward other people. Notice that I am just speculating and have no way of really knowing what he is feeling and thinking.

These are some of the statements that he has made in this thread that are less than peaceful in my own opinion:

  1. “It’s amazing how stupid people became after 9/11.”

  2. “Basically none of you know jack shit, and you just want to feel smart because it suits your bias.”

  3. “Wanna-be pseudo-intellectuals are among the most gullible people on the planet. Once you guys stake a claim to an opinion you’ll use any method you can possibly think of to defend it, thinking you are advancing some crusade against ignorance, when really all you are doing is propagating ignorance because the fact of the matter is ‘YOU DON’T KNOW SHIT.’”

  4. “I am castigating others for scoffing haughtily about their belief in something that for which they lack evidence. The same thing I have been castigating people in other threads for ironically.”

  5. “I seem to recall that in addition to making a crack about that dumbass argument, I also said other things.”

  6. “John McCain moving forward with a political decision based upon the best knowledge available is a far cry from you being a dickhead about it on a message board. He HAS to make decisions that affect people’s lives. You have the luxury of being able to sit here and speculate on the internet. It’s hardly the same fucking thing at all.”

  7. “Anyway, I don’t give a fuck whether the WMDs exist or not, I am just tired of the hypocritical superiority on this board.”

  8. “The enemy isn’t in Iraq it’s in Washington DC. He can give me a call when he wants to march on the real enemy, and then I’ll think he’s honorable and we’ll hook up. Until then I’ll just sit here online doing whatever damage to the morale of any soldier that reads what I have to say that I possibly can. Look at me I’m a combatant, I can use psy war from the comfort of my own home just like the US Government and the Terrorists do!”

Zoe & Mellivora capensis,
Erek is melting down:

Nothing pacifistic about him in this post.

Jim

Still none of you have shown me where I have punched or shot anyone in this thread. I mean I’ve been sitting here fingering my gat, but I’d have to find out where you live, and well I can just watch people getting shot on TV and pretend it’s you.

Love,
Me

Hmm…I wonder if you’d trip and fall from reversing yourself should I substitute George W. Bush for John McCain in the quote above.

Zoe, thank you for your reply.

I can see now where you are coming from, although I must admit my “peace” barometer is probably set to a different level.

Whether or not mswas is “melting down” elsewhere or is less than peaceful in his other posts is a moot point, and one which I’m not going to debate here. My point is that in this particular thread there is little evidence of a non-peaceful person. But then again, maybe it’s because you see Erek as a pacifist, whereas I don’t. I see him as a peace activist, albeit an increasingly frustrated one, and thus I am probably willing to provide more latitude regarding invective in his views.

I have found his contributions in this thread to be thoroughly thought provoking, and although a lot of what he said here resonates with me, I do not share all his views. His position is clearly not popular amongst the hawks, and so I have come to admire his tenacity when trying to discuss matters concerning American military and foreign policy.
