Chive posted several of the funniest and naughtiest. I don’t think these were quite the responses the children’s book publishers anticipated. ![]()
my two favorites are the Little Mermaid and the flying, pooping dragon.

Thank you, these are pretty hilarious!
#22, the girl wading in the lake with the puppy on the shore, was the one that cracked me up.
tons of hilariousness on there
thanks…I’m on the phone trying not to break up laughing!
Street Walker Elmo? was my favorite…
Pole Dancer Thor was my favorite.
Can anyone figure out what’s going on with the Peter Pan/Tinkerbell one?
If you look closely, you’ll see that Tink has been shooting up. There are syringes laying around on the mushroom.
Dora the Explorer evading border patrol got me.
Thank you very much. That f-ing just triggered our content warning. I guess I can expect a visit from my boss.
Sounds like the “job you hate” problem might be solving itself…
Billfish78:
I think that was Grover, actually.
I like the snowboarder boots one best.
I hope not, being able to bitch about it is one of the things I love.
And she has her arm tied off. Props for what looks like a prison teardrop tattoo on Peter Pan. ![]()
I don’t quite understand the severed head on the turtle. Any particular meaning or is it just supposed to be cool looking?
The Chive is pretty mainstream just like Cracked dot com . I’m surprised any company would red flag content from either.
Block them? Maybe, if they are concerned employees are killing too much company time on the web.
That’s the one that already has unfortunate implications in the original. I was surprised they didn’t go further that way.
She appears to be flashing the dog.
The girl on the washing machine is kind of subtle but I get the meaning of whats going on.
Thanks BigT! I didn’t see that show and didn’t know the reference. The drawing makes sense now.
So funny. I like 12 the best.
To tell the truth, neither had I. I just had this vague memory of hearing “tortuga” connected with “decapitated head” (probably in a discussion about the show.) I actually expected it to be some sort of mythical beast.
Also, now that I can say it without triple posting: I think the “bear hug” one is cheating! You can’t remove one of Mickey’s feet using just colored pencils and a black marker. And colored pencils don’t work well on white out. They had to use a computer or some photocopier trick.
(Note, exclamation marks like that mean a playful tone.)
