THIS is why mankind shouldn't build robots

I used to have faith in technology, but more and more I’m becoming a Luddite.

Here we see a perfect example of why building robots is a very bad idea.

Indian scientist builds robot (robot happens to look like its creator - damn hubris!)

Hijinks ensue. (youtube)

I fear for the world that my children will have to inhabit.

I think he’d make an excellent governor of California.

Wow, I watched that whole thing.

I like when the “Snake” eats the car! Definitely a sign of things to come if we continue to make more robots…

That was approximately 47.829 kinds of awesome.

I tried to see this in the theater, but the jackass promoter decided to charge $18 for tickets. So it played to a completely empty house.

Robots on Roller Skates.

Excellent!

I didn’t. Was there a musical number in there somewhere?

Might be difficult, given that Elvis obviously isn’t ready to reveal his ageless visage to all of his fans in the States yet.

Was it an IMAX theater? Or one of those newfangled luxury movie theaters?

The youtube clips are only part of the movie. I would hope that if you watch the whole thing you get to see a few musical numbers.

Kinda anticlimactic.

I’d see it though.

Given what the solo robot can do, flinging pairs of trucks around and so forth, it seems like they’re limiting themselves when they join up to make the giant critters. They could wreak more havoc with all the dozens of them running around independently tearing shit up.

6:17 is very meta.
Oh and Rajinikanth is a pimp.

Nope, this was at the bog standard Cinemark Palace on the Plaza in Kansas City. All the other movies were $8, this one was $18. Breathtakingly stupid idea.

But isn’t building robots a noble enterprise pursued only by right thinking scientists?

We have a similar situation in Rochester. There’s a movie theatre that normally has two dollar tickets. But once in a while, it’ll have an Indian movie playing - and when it does it raises the ticket price for that movie to something like fifteen dollars.

More problems with robots.

Yes.

I liked it. Though the lady in the car sounded like she was being massaged, not terrified. Not that I’m complaining.

Fantasy

Reality

Also those Indian robots look vaguely like the oompa loompahs from the willy wonka remake.
