"This is youtube material", depths of human depravity revealed.

The sad part is that the laminate flooring only had a lifetime warrenty.

I do hope his punishment will fit his crime. Perhaps community service in a hospice? ‘Outraging public decency’ - what an appropriate law.

Here is Hartlepool

Here is Hartlepool, executing monkeys.

They executed the wrong monkeys, apparently. Some stayed to breed.

Oh, quite right.

Over here, a cannabis cigarette is a joint. I’ve smoked a bit of stuff myself, but if I asked for a joint, I was looking for pot.

At least some of them bred! They…whisper it…touched a girl (or, possibly, a monkey, I’ll give you that).

I hear that these types of things cause mass hand wringing in the UK about the state of society and the perpetrator will be given a sentence as long as 2 - 4 weeks. I know that it is hard to crackdown on your fellow citizens for something that is a collective failure.

Although the U.S. has many bulging prisons, our death chambers remain remarkably empty most of the time. I suggest that you send this guy to the U.S., especially Texas because they have just put in an execution express lane. It won’t bring her back but the money earned through the pay-per-view program can help her family or her favorite charity.

You guys have got to get hooligan behavior under control there. Relatives that are from or lived in the UK comment on this type of thing often. It happens in the U.S. as well of course but at least the perpetrators get a nice beatdown followed by a humilating trial and then a sentence that is measured in years or decades rather than months.

…No one knows what it’s like to be a dustbin, in Shaftesbury…

I kinda understand what you mean, but you have to understand that a horrid incident like this makes national news, as does a shooting incident, or even a particularly bad car crash. The US is five times the population, but Britain is more like a village, really, in many ways.

Am I the only person who is not happy with the idea of calling this “human” depravity and an instance of exploring “humanity?”

This is a marginal case of “humanity” at best.

I know next to nothing about the law, and pretty much nothing nothing about UK law. Would this be a form of assault?

In Scotland, breach of the peace. In England, well it’s all the same common law as you have in the US. There’s plenty of “you fucking moonbat cunt” laws. This charmer will hopefully find himself in front of a sherriff or a magistrate, and well…enjoy prison you evil bastard.

I reckon we should just wait outside the prison when he gets released and give him what for.

My mother-in-law and her family are English. My sister-in-law recently finished her Master’s degree there. I am of English descent as well. The US has a higher murder and rape rate than England but virtually every other crime statistic is higher there. Murder tends to be localized in the U.S. with the major portion being minority on minority crime.

In everyday terms for your average person, the U.S. is safer than England. The U.S. cracks down hard on offenses that would be considered lesser in England and I can’t argue with that. Many people have told me that hooligans wait outside of bars at closing time for the express purpose of fighting. I have no idea why that is allowed nor do I know why soccer hooliganism and every other permutation of that type of thing weren’t ended a long time ago. We have gang and terrorism squads to send those types away for good and I am not sure why England doesn’t do that as well. It disrupts and terrorizes inccocent people that just want to watch a game or even just walk home. If people did the equivalent and tried hooliganism at the NFL Superbowl, a stay in a Supermax or Guantanamo Bay, Cuba may not be out of the question.

This could very well be a one-off crime that could happen anywhere but I have heard too many versions of similar things to wonder about the philosophy England uses to punish or put away hooligans. If they don’t find away to put him away for at least 10 years in maximum security, I think that your system is flawed.

I’ve heard that Americans are all really fat and stupid!

I shall bravely announce that I have no clue whatsoever if you’re joking. So, are you joking?

I literally feel sick upon reading that. I sat down with some cheesecake, after weeding in the yard, and walking the dog, and was feeling in a lovely mood.

Now I feel sick. I hope very evil things happen to that person.

For the most part yes but that isn’t important right now.

My sister-in-law lived in England and loved England but she had her purse stolen the day after she got off of the plane and the constant fighting outside of bars scared and turned her off to much of the experience. I think I would literally kill any punk that disrupted my family experience at a sporting event and many Americans feel the same way. Luckily, we have law enforcement to use rubber bullets, real bullets, tasers, or raw manpower to take care of this stuff for us.

To be fair, I am very Southern although I don’t live in the South now and it still has a very British influence in the rural areas People still fist-fight openly when they are drunk or to settle common disputes. However, the penalties will be harsh when things get out of hand.

I just notice that merry old England has become soft on crime. That is unsavory in the U.S. and will get politicians shit-canned for thinking that way.

This isn’t really an insult. It is just a different philosophy for two places that come from the same legal philosophy. I would be interested to hear why law enforcement is more lax and forgiving in the UK compared to the U.S.

That’s true.

Joking about what? Someone openly starting a mass fight at the Superbowl could easily be construed as terrorism because it is an international multi-billion dollar event. The Cuba and Supermax part were hyperbole but not very different in the practical sense. My wife’s heroine addicted nephew landed himself in maximum security yesterday and landed himself in an internal solitary confinement with Supermax conditions (23 hours a day in the cell with no diversions and one hour in a holding cell without a roof for the other hour) for an indeterminate amount of time because he started a fight soon after he arrived.

I don’t see what the question is except for my fake locations.
