I can’t just let this poor, heartless, but hilarious comment go unnoticed.
You are a zoftig cool person, friedo.
On the other hand though Shaggers what the fuck is your malfunction, you utter cock.
If only.
You are quite mad.
sigh I don’t get a lot of jokes on this board. Could you possibly explain it please? It may well have to be mono-syllables. Thank you.
What’s funny is that once you believe someone might be joking no amount of “I’m not joking” is convincing.
I have no idea what you are talking about. I think this is the cultural difference.
My little brother is the head of the canine unit at LSU (Louisiana State University. It is traditionally a sports powerhouse). The university itself has a canine unit with smell and attack dogs, terrorism trained forces, as well as SWAT teams at their disposal) That is just for one university and the campus is quite nice and safe (obviously). They deploy these during major sporting events which may host 60,000 people or so. Sometimes there is someone needing Secret Service protection and that protection is also in place. No one is allowed to start a fight or riot at any game without their ass landing up in jail and maybe prison.
Starting a mass fight at a major sporting event is terrorism. Why wouldn’t it be? The hooligans cause fear in 10’s of thousands of people when they do that. What is the difference between other types of terrorism.
England is so pussified by muddled, semi-socialist thought that everyone is too paralysed to do anything about it. That is shameful and disenguous to all of its citizens and visitors.
Modern Western Europe in general needs to grow a pair. The muddled feminization of thought combined with the masculization of preferred crime is not a good combination.
I tend to write in hyperbole and embedded humor but I am serious this time although it may not read the way that I meant it to.
The message was simple.
Europeans are much soften on crimes like this than Americans
and
the American Judicial system would find a way to make a painful charge stick
My other point was based on soccer hooligans which I suppose is a minor hijack. I compare it to the Superbowl which has every local, state, and federal agency protecting it. A coordinated fight that was premeditated could easily be construed as terrorism. Imagine if the perpetrators are Middle Eastern, the victims were innocent, and game play had to be stopped because of it. I can’t see how that wouldn’t get someone a huge sentence as opposed to fighting their buddy on the street.
Wow, terrorism really has a wide definition these days, doesn’t it?
Shagnasty, you’re talking utter bollocks.
To be fair, it’s not entirely Shagnasty’s bollocks. (But terrorism? )
You are aware that England has got rid of 99% of football hooliganism, without shooting anyone nor locking them up in supermaxes? And that it’s other countries that have the major problems nowadays, Italy and Poland for instance, where the police certainly aren’t guys you could strike up a conversation with during a match?
Judging by the level of overall intelligence, maturity and insight of the average Yutube poster, I have to agree that the act was, indeed, YouTube material.
Some day a sociologist will have to mortage his sanity and jump in there to investigate.
You corner me, I might become a scalawag!
Sadly, it sounds like perfectly expected chav behavior to me. Logical outcome of happy-slapping.
Slap an ASBO on him: If he ever leaves his house again, police descend with billyclubs, tasers, and pepper spray until he goes back inside.
If Scotland lacks ASBOs, just turn his guts into a bagpipe.
Scotland? Hartlepool’s in England.
OK, the thread mentioned Scotland and I got my geography mixed up.
You don’t see animals treating each other that way. I think human depravity is the only term that works.
I do think Swampwolf’s suggestion in post 6 would make good Youtube material though.
Here’s another report of the story. In this one, it says that the victim lived opposite the offender - it was ‘her doorway’ she collapsed in, rather than ‘a doorway’. Also, it looks like the pissing moron thought she was comatose from drink or drugs, suggesting it was perhaps nearer the ‘shave-the-eyebrows-off-the-lightweight’ situation than the BBC article suggests, albeit just a tad grimmer…
Because things like this happen?
You doubtless view this as a kindness to a stranger. Others would view this as a missed Youtube opportunity.
I’m pretty sure they do, but I have no cites. I’ll start another thread.
Even if you are right that animals don’t treat each other this way, I’m still bothered by calling it “human” depravity. There’s nothing essentially human about this kind of behavior. Humans don’t generally do it, and an entity can refrain from doing it and remain a perfectly clear example of humanity. Arguably, a better example of humanity.
“Human depravity,” given the theological background of the phrase, connotes some kind of essential, inescapable aspect of human nature–as though if you are human, you are practically doomed to commit equivalently evil sins. But even if being human is what makes it possible for one entity to treat another like this, that doesn’t mean that it is an example of the “depths of human depravity.” It’s an example of the depths of that guy’s depravity–not yours, not mine.

I have no evidence for the following claim, but I wish to register the following:
This is pretty much how I figured it went down.
