This lady is a magician: Porn star makeovers

Oh, come on. None of these women is “ugly.” They have blotchy skin and pimples, but jeez, who among us doesn’t? (Not me.)

And doesn’t anyone appearing on camera need heavy makeup? Porn stars just have a little extra glam.

Most of these are from plain to unattractive. Women I wouldn’t give a second glance to if they were in the room with me. Many amatuers you find on sites are much more attractive.

This make me feel soooo much better about my natural complexion!

Almost all of these women look hung over w/o makeup. I don’t think they’re all ugly hags without it but everyone’s look did improve IMHO.

Women will like what I tell them to like.

Na, I don’t think so. It’s pretty amazing how bad natural skin and stuff can look on camera. Shiny skin, dark circles, blotches, zits, and light lashes all blend together in photos in a less than glamorous look— in fact, what looks great while walking around on the day to day, might not be so great under the flash of a camera. It cracks me up when my friends who wear no makeup complain that they aren’t photogenic in the slightest/ hate pictures of themselves/ etc. Every so often, I’ll offer to do their makeup and take some pictures of them to prove that they, too, can be just as pretty as the girls in the magazines. More than once I’ve had someone cry at the results. I’m no wizard-- makeup is just an awesome tool.

I’ve made no bones about my love of makeup when posting on this board-- it’s just a fun, artistic thing to play with. It can be used lightly or heavily, naturally or editorially, and the end result is almost always a person getting their confidence boosted.

You know, I’d wondered why so many porn stars looked like ugly girls with layers of hideous makeup caked up. Now I know.

I’m guessing most of them have horrible skin because they’re always wearing inch-thick makeup. They’re not just clogging their pores, they’re paving them and adding an extra layer of tarmac.

Also: Puma Swede’s real face will haunt my dreams in a very, very bad way.

I agree with the makeup probably causing blemishes. Anything but Bare Minerals wrecks my skin. Plus those girls are probably sweating under that makeup because of the uh physical nature of their jobs, so it makes sense.

FWIW I don’t think anyone’s makeup looks “caked on.” I’ve seen plenty of caked on and that’s not it.

They all look like normal girls to me. Maybe you come from a place where everyone is drop dead gorgeous, though.

You could do this same makeover story about news anchors or TV/movie actors. Just about everyone is plain without makeup.

I’d say most of them, they look like really cute girls with bad complexions at worst. Which is really not all that shocking at that age. And the ones who truly don’t look very good are older and don’t actually look all that good with makeup either.

Meh. Save some bucks and just head on over to your local Glamour Shots - pretty much the same thing.

Yeah, dontcha know, Una? Makeup artists are just hacks-- any ol’ person working at the mall can do the same thing.

Yep that’s where I live. New Jersey.

I suggest starting out with a few amateur videos - you’ll have a better chance at landing some paying gigs. And then who knows, you may get your wish!

This is very true. I mentioned this in another recent thread about writing - specifically, basing characters on people you know in real life. In my case, most of my writing has been “erotic fiction”. I started writing this stuff when I was still a teenager (back in the early 1980s), and of course I based my female characters on the girls I knew from school. Then I kept doing it as I got older. One day, not long after I turned 30, it just sort of hit me; I realized I needed to stop doing that, for exactly the reasons you stated. My earlier rationalization was that I was writing the stories for my own amusement, and nobody else was ever going to read them. But I realized the problem was with how they were affecting my perception of these young women, and that it wasn’t right. Thankfully, the Internet came along and provided me with a way to find “inspiration” for my characters in the form of models and actresses that I had no chance of ever meeting in real life.

Hollywood Celebrities without makeup are just as surprising. Some look ok and others pretty rough without makeup.

…and way too much dickface.

I’ll take Puma Swede and Larkin Love without the makeup.

I think that the person who wrote the OP specifically picked out the plainer ones from the 59-photo slideshow, as most of these women are much plainer than some of the ones in the slideshow on the Huffington Post article. I wouldn’t call any of them super attractive sans makeup, but some of the OP’s choices aren’t that great with makeup either.

I feel the same way. My first thought was “Wow, I’m so glad I can leave the house without makeup and not look like I had a rough night!” when looking at these.
