I went to the doctor yesterday about my lower back pain. The first time, she gave me a corti[sub]something or other[/sub]. A steroid of some kind. It worked then. This time she gave me a muscle relaxer and prescription strength Aleve. Neither did anything. The muscle relaxer is supposed to make me feel sleepy even, and it’s not even doing that. I’m usually very easily affected by drugs. The pain simply doesn’t diminish at all. I can take a half a Vicodin and that will definitely work, but I was trying to avoid an addictive narcotic. I guess I need to call the doctor and let her know what’s up.
Be glad the Vicodin works - Vicodin ES (extra strength) barely takes the edge off for me (for either back pain or migraine) - I took 3 yesterday for migraine, and probably will have to take more today.
I ended up taking half a Vicodin and that felt better. At least I slept quite well. Extra Strength Vicodin! :eek:
i’m being serious here, because i’ve had lower back pain since i was an itty bitty kid.
the only things that work for me (apart from the serious drugs) are ice-packs and chiropraction.
i do pilates every week, which has also strengthened my core up a lot.
so grab yourself a bag of frozen peas and lie on it for 1/2 an hour, you’ll feel better.
