This riddle is driving me crazy.

No worries. I got all excitd thinking maybe it was something like:

“Four crowns in an English pound!” until I remembered R =/ P :smack:

Then I got excited about:

“Four cylinders in an engine r… <Homer> something something </H>.”

Certainly not tough to misread an R as a P, especially if it’s handwritten.

You guys don’t really think there’s an answer to this, do you? I’m leaving this open for now, but if the OP doesn’t return fairly soon I’ll close it.

What “four Cs” are there? Maybe we can find a better clue. Let’s see…

four cardinal points on a map
four corners on a square/rectangle/room (assuming you are referring to room layout)

Are there any card games that have “four cards” in a hand? Music that has “four chords”?

I must have been sent to the SDMB!

Or early-onset Alzheimer’s is settling in. :frowning:

What was that other one anyway? I can’t remember the number/letters involved.

4 C in an E R

Anything to do with Cincinnati and Cancer?

Cinc Cancer?

I see from that website this type of puzzle is called a “ditloid.”

We won’t be suckered again. :dubious:

Four chambers in a heart… is there a fancy word for heart that fits E R?

So in this “ditloid” does it have to be an actual thing like “7 days in a week” (which is a real thing) or can it be self-referential, like “4 E in an E I” for “four Es in an elephant’s intestine?”

Well, I suppose you could mean “every heart”, but then it wouldn’t be true any longer.

Forsees in an E.R.? Doctor?

4 Cutters in an Emo’s Room?

I think you grossly underestimate our collective ability to pound our heads against a wall. Why don’t you just move it over to the Game Room where it will sink or swim fast enough?

Ooh - I bet the “4 carats in an engagement ring” poster is on to something. Aren’t there the 4 Cs that every guy’s supposed to know when shopping for an engagement ring - color, cut, clarity, and…um…carat, I suppose. So, 4 Cs in an Engagement Ring might make perfect sense - but the “C” in question is referring to the four words instead of just one.

4 chords in an Elvis retrospective

Come on, they’re clowns! If they can only fit 4, they’re not really trying all that hard, are they?
