Valentine’s Day 2017 was a day full of disbelief and mourning (which had been going on for just under a month). We were all a bit shell-shocked at the time, some of us already livid. By 2018, we had had time to adjust. But, that does not affect the age of the thread.

Wildly off topic, but a 19 year old me was working the ticket desk at a child-friendly New Year’s party, and by 11 the flow of people had dwindled significantly. My shift ended at 02:00 so I had nothing to do.
Security found this 3 or 4 year old kid crying in a corner, and being somewhat of a disorganized party, brought him down to the ticket office.
As there was really no traffic at that point, he and I spent the countdown and celebration under the entrance table drawing pictures on the back of the guest list on a clipboard.
Parents arrived about an hour (!) afterwards, but that was one of the most fun NYEs I have had
