I am used to the lizards, palmetto bugs, snakes, spider, gators, possums, raccoons,mosquitos, and other forms of wildlife that run around this place. What I cannot get used to are those absolutely gross, disgusting, creepy, HUGE (3-4 inches) yellow grasshoppers. They give me the absolute ghoulies. Grasshoppers have no business being that large. Any clues how to get rid of them? I see at least 1-2 everyday in the yard. When I was a kid, my brothers would catch them and put them in ant beds. The resulting ant buffet would keep us engrossed all afternoon. However, this would involve me actually getting close enuff to the aliens to catch them and that is NOT going to happen. I sprayed one with bug spray the other day, but it took a really long time to expire. :eek: Makes me want to choke up just thinking about it.
I’d rather see a grasshopper hopping merrily along than a snake slithering in the grass. :eek:
I know, I know-- this is irrational considering the creatures that dont bother me at all (see above list). There seems to be something so WRONG with this insect. Its the stuff of nightmares
