Majid Majidi is one of the world’s greatest directors. Jafar Panahi is right up there too. But the greatest Iranian director–one of the greatest directors of all time–is Abbas Kiarostami.
If you haven’t seen it yet, watch Children of Heaven. I think it’s the best of all of them.
