I’m digging this story, from the method of detection to the possible scenarios- was it an almost sweetly romantic act by her husband, desparate to allow his wife to live out her last days believing the world considered her Britain’s greatest musician ever after having her career tragically destroyed by cancer 30 years ago? Or was she in on it too? I know little about the classical music scene, how long was the world duped? and if this worked for someone high profile enough to be considered one of Britain’s all time greastest, how many lesser knowns are getting/got away with this type of thing? Its about time there was a good classical music scandal
