Thoughts on Carol Moseley Braun

Those are true facts, but I’m not sure they can be extrapolated to this race. Daley was Daley, and there isn’t anyone with his kind of clout in the current race.

He set up the city’s first environmental office and got Lee Botts to run it.

Heh. It may be bad form to quote oneself, but I love it when I’m right. Carol’s done it again.

Video here.

More fallout from the “strung out on crack” crack: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/02/02/moseley-braun-urged-to-leave-chicago-mayor’s-race-after-“strung-out-on-crack”-comment/

She stuck her foot so far in her mouth, she can lick her own kneecap. What a maroon. You’re the #2 candidate, and you’re going after the #5 or #6 candidate, who’s polling in the low single digits? She had nothing to gain by doing that, and much to lose.

Jesus–and what makes it truly heinous is that that candidate does have a record of drug use (abuse?) as a teen.

It’s bad enough as a snarky remark, but now it seems more malicious in intent to me.

I’m merely an onlooker, though, not a city resident.

When she was my senator she sent me thoughtful responses to my emails and letters. She was helpful in matters I needed assistance with. When I met her in person she was courteous. I thanked her for being my senator and she hugged me. I don’t have a vote in the Chicago election, but I think that Chicago could do far worse than her.
