what are your thoughts about the future of private security, and what trends do you think we’ll see in the comming years. also think about how the technology will affect it, in the future. at work today we had a speaker come in and talk us about private security, and make a long story short it seemed like he didnt know what was going on. however, the 3 hour lunch break was greatly appreciated

Private security on what level? The cheapo observe and report rent a cop types will always be around to some degree or another. The big boys will always be around as well with plenty of the latest technology and firepower to go with it.
Its all supply, demand, and how well you want something guarded.
Private security? Lots more monitoring and intervention technology, in my opinion - especially in the area of less-than-lethal incapacitation systems. Personal security? Lots more CCW and intrusion-defeating technology, in my opinion - especially in the area of person-portable “compliance” systems like tasers, stun-wands, pepper sprays, amplified sound emission, intensified light devices, etc. [CCW = Carry Concealed Weapon] I believe we will see a huge jump in this market arena. As technology advances, the spin-offs will benefit any person who wants to provide their own security.
