Thoughts on the new "Life" mini-series on Discovery

I very much look forward to the release of the BBC version on Region 1 DVD. It’s not available yet. I kept trying to hear what Oprah was saying with Attenborough’s voice and decide if it would sound better, and they didn’t seem to show credits indicating whether or not the narration was re-written for American broadcast.

But it was definitely NOT remixed footage from Planet Earth, and some of it was pretty stunning.

So what do you guys think? How much of these shows were staged? Were the chameleons in terraria? Were the snake and toad shots creatively spliced? How about the tarantula and (my favorite) the bouncing (pebble?) toad?
