Moscow Mitch, of course, NEVER politicizes anything. Ever.
And leaning on a foreign government to smear your political opponent is not politicizing it.
It’s encouraging to see that he’s already at the last bubble on the spin flow chart, having skipped past “it never happened,” “it happened but it’s no big deal,” and “OK it’s a big deal but whatabout ————.”
It’s the safest bet in town. Whatever they accuse their opposition of, it’s what they themselves are doing.
Wouldn’t it be fun to see what Republicans do if Sanders or Warren publicly offer to reduce sanctions against Russia in exchange for information about Trump’s crimes.
I really wish (but don’t have much hope) that the Democrats will make it absolutely crystal clear that they will follow this up, and that ANYone at all who covers up, hides evidence or otherwise obstructs the legal process will have the full weight of the law fall down upon them.
Moscow Mitch needs to be very, very aware that if he takes steps to obstruct or hide evidence, that he will be going to prison for a long time. No more simply watching criminals protect the big boss in the Whitehouse.
Their choice is: Full cooperation with the law NOW, or no consideration going forward. No pardons, no cushy retirement, just consequences for actions.
I see your post is full of confidence on a number of items.
Liberals are warmongers!
The way Moscow Mitch looks, I don’t think a long sentence is possible. Ten years might be a life term for him.
I want the whole lot investigated, indicted, convicted, and taken off the streets. Moscow Mitch, Willie the Weasel Barr, Mike Half-Pence, and everyone in Don The Con’s family with the exception of Barron.
In case you were referring to my post, I note that it started with:
“I really wish (but don’t have much hope)”
So not much confidence that the right things will be done, or that the guilty will face justice. Sadly.
Let’s not prepare to accept defeat. The whistleblower wants to testify. I think his/her (likely one of each gender) testimony will be compelling, credible, and convincing. This will move the needle of popular opinion, and if the public overwhelmingly favors lancing this boil on the national buttocks, then it will be lanced and the putrid pus will be drained from the White House.
“Senate unanimously calls for Trump to release Ukraine whistleblower complaint”
Some GOPers are finally fighting the criming.
douple-bost.
I swear I have not been more surprised all year!
Maybe Moscow Mitch finally decided that the GOP needs to cut the orange blob loose so he doesn’t drag the rest of them down.
I think this thread might grow very long now that the impeachment inquiry is actually happening.
Too late. Having never ever voted for voted for a D or an R for President in my life, I am [del]prepared[/del] eager to vote for whoever the Democrat candidate is in 2020.
You see, up until the 2016 election I would say that there was little to choose between either candidate and that while I might disagree vehemently with his/her stated policy directions during the campaign, the republic was resilient enough to withstand four or even eight years of the wrong guy.
Donny Two-scoops and the Republican party that nominated him have taken all that away. Another four years of Trump will wreck the country, perhaps forever, certainly for as long as I live. Even after he elected I said to myself, Surely he’ll realize he’s in way over his head and surround himself with advisors who – assholes as may be – will keep the ship of state from running onto the rocks.* That lasted about three days after the inauguration.
I am reminded of some years back when, anxious to be rid of Nickel-bag Joe Arpaio as sheriff, I voted for the Democrat when there was a Libertarian running. It didn’t work – it took until the next election before he was gone – but I have never forgiven ol’ Joe for making me do that. This is a thousand times worse.
*To be fair, does anyone really realize what they’re getting into if they are elected president of the United States?
