Why does seafood go bad so much faster than beef or poultry?
WAGs:
[li]Fish are less evolved. :)[/li][li]Beef & chicken eat antibiotic-laden food. The antibiotics keep working after the animal has died.[/li][li]When fish are harvested, they’re all dumped in a big holding bin, then taken to port for processing. There’s thousands of dead fishies mingling for quite a while, whereas beef carcasses are hung up individually after slaughter.[/li][li]Latent bacteria living in the sea (and also in fish) are faster-acting than their dry-land counterparts.
[/li]
