MoosieGirl asks: This is driving me crazy…
Are the three women characters in a movie?
YES!!!
aschrott asks: so all three are characters *in[/in] the movie?
YES!!!
is the whole point of this that we’re supposed to guess what movie was playing?
YES (now, anyway; the first whole point of this was to realize that it was a movie and not a real-life scenario )
is this a well-known story?
YES
I give up. But I have an easy mystery if Bricker is out of them.
I have a zillion of them - easy, moderate, and hard. But they’re hard to predict, difficulty-wise. I’ve had people spend twenty minutes on the library one, and it was nailed here inside two minutes.
Does the movie take place in a time were law inforcement as we know it today did not exist?
BING BING BING BING!!!
A tip o’ the chapeau to Flypsyde. And another cigar. Well done!
Wow, that was great, Bricker.
Dammit, Flypsyde. Someone start an “I hate Flypsyde” thread. Didn’t he get the cannibal one?
Hey, how about if I turn the quizmaster hat over to SwimmingRiddles for hers?
Go for it, SR!
Flypside, you Pirate!!!
Hey, hey, hey, now, SR, no need to get violent. If you want, you can have the cigars-show 'em off to your friends, and no one will be the wiser.
Besides, there are enough people who hate me around here.
Battles are won in nuance.
Okidoki. A fairly easy one.
You have a vertically challenged man. (midget, to go with the Wizard of Oz motif.) The door man notes that every day this man leaves the building with an unbrella, regardless of whether or not it is raining. Why?
I know this one, and so recuse myself.
Does he use his umbrella to press on the elevator buttons? (someone had to say it!)
To press the button of the floor he lives on. He can press the level floor button OK, but not the one he lives on. So when he gets back, he has to use the umbrella to push the button: or take the stairs.

To reach the buttons in the elevator?
