Thrills Spills and Swills: Battle of the Beers in Thailand

See it here. The struggle to identify the best beer in Thailand.

Singha, the clear winner and brewed since 1933, is my own tipple of choice. (I had, um, “several” last night.) It only recently dropped down to 5% alcohol content, within the past few years; used to be 6%. Dunno why they changed it, but the change was a quiet one. One day, someone happened to notice it suddenly read 5% on the cans and bottles. Word spread, and the brewery said yeah, that happened a short while back.

Phuket beer is hard to find in the store. I know it can be found in Five Star Bar in Soi Cowboy and Woodstock Bar in the Thonglor area. Yes, a bit fruity; a pleasant alternative, but I can’t take it seriously.
