This is a Google immage search on Tiananmen Square.
Aww, Google’s ALWAYS your friend, sometimes you just have to know how to talk to her nicely. Your pic…
And at the finish, it’s zigaretten, followed closely by Ringo, and bringing up the rear, abel with the bronze. What an exciting race we’ve had here today! Next on Eurosport, Ballroom Dancing Deathmatch.
Since this thread is open I might as well post a question I’ve always had which is what happened to that particular guy? Did the tanks eventually decide to run him over? Did they turn around? The website provided simply says he “stopped” the tank column which would seem to suggest they turned around but I have trouble believing it.
Has anyone seen the rest of that video or know what eventually happened?

In answer to Red’s questions, a section from Jan Wong’s excellent book on China, Red China Blues:
IIRC, this clip was shown in the Temple of Heavenly Peace documentary by Hinton, and nothing as to what happened to him. I would highly recommend this documentary to anyone that wants a good balanced view on the historical background, the months of demonstrations and the aftermath.
I think Jan Wong is spot on.
