He shouldn’t have let Zack back in, and I’ll never understand his strategy on 16, where he kept hitting irons off the tee so he couldn’t reach the green, but he played the last two holes like the Tiger of old.
Everybody will talk about those last two putts, but he hit perfect tee shots and approaches to set them up. And thanks to Zack for playing him so tough — a runaway win wouldn’t have told us whether Tiger has regained his ability to play his best under pressure. Now we know.
He’s not all the way back, by far, but I’d say he’s one of the ten best golfers in the world right now. I can’t wait to see what he does after four more months of practice before Augusta.
