Tiger vs. Wolf: Who wins?

Cheetah’s won’t fight not because they are cowardly or small but because they are smart. They can easily catch a new meal but if they get in a scuffle with a hyena or a lion and get an injury (even a monor one) to their legs they will starve. If they can’t run they can’t hunt. They run down their prey whereas other predators use stealth, size and/or pack cooperation to catch prey which involves a lot less running on their parts.

I am very fond of wolves and cats of all sizes. I can’t play favorites here, a tiger would win paws down for reasons already mentioned size, strength and weaponry (claws) - unless the wolf was safely hidden in a hunting blind with a rifle and night scope.

In a fight with a wolf and cheetah, the wolf would win by default because the cheetah would walk away.

Hey, quit legislating from the bench! The law of the jungle is quite unambiguous, and it’s either against the law to kill cattle or it’s not. I say we ask Baloo for a ruling.

Have fun.

Did you read it in Boris Karloff’s voice?

(When I was a kid we had a couple of records of Karloff reading the Jungle Book and the Just So Stories. Magnificent! When I read to my kids, I always did it in as close to his voice as I could. Here is a sample of the Elephant’s Child.)

Mountain lions, less than 1/2 the size of a tiger prey on solitary wolves as a food item.

I’m not sure what the point was of reviving an 11-year-old thread, but it’s closed, now.
