Hell, I’m tempted not to even say that it’s a book I’m talking about, or that Bob Heinlein wrote it. If you don’t know those things, you can’t reasonably have an opinion. Also, I’m a jerk.

You may feel free to include scenes from TO SAIL BEYOND THE SUNSET and THE CAT WHO WALKS THROUGH WALLS, though anyone who even types the title of that story with Zeb and Hilda and the other two will be beaten with a stick.
They had sex with each other, then Lazarus Long, then after the development of the “continua” device they skipped over and had a five-way with Lois Lane, Lori Lemaris and Lex Luthor.

I defy you to show me any scene where they show any repression towards that type of sexual behavior, once they get over their hang-up over Woody.

He never MET Laz & Lor. Anyway, the L Lex wants to bone is KAL-EL. He pursued Lois for the same reason Captain Hammer pursued What’s-Her-Name, and Lena Luthor was produced the same way Connor Kent was, though for different reasons.

I don’t think Laz-Lor were lovers, in the physical sense, because I think it would have been unnecessary and perhaps discombobulating. They’re clearly shown to be telepathic with one another on a verbal level; I suspect they were very aware of one another’s sensations as well. I know it may seem like that would make sex between them better, but I doubt it; I think it would make it seem like masturbation to them. At most they experimented with one another as tweens, then lost interest.
Deety and Libby are a whole 'nother matter. It would have broken up Deety & Zeb if that coupling hadn’t been pretty much absorbed by the larger group. My cite is my shotgun.
Galahad was never a good boy. If I were wearing my Evil!Skald hat I’d say that the only thing I regret about stealing my first continua device – the one that made Rhymer Enterprises possible – is that I didn’t get to murder him three times.
So they lost interest because it is was pretty much like masturbation to them? Care to rethink that one again, because I don’t remember there being too many studies showing that people get bored with masturbation and soon stop doing it.
This is supposed to be a joke thread, of course. But in my experience, masturbation is far less satisfying than sex with another party. I think Laz & Lor, living in a very sexually free society and apparently being kinda hot (or as hot as was possible given that they were clones of Lazarus ) would have had tons of opportunities for real sex and had little need for the outlet.
In David Gerrold’s excellent compact novel The Man Who Folded Himself - which is really a novel-length reworking of “All You Zombies,” in some ways - his time-folded analogues (which start off as two,then three, then probably thousands) have sex with each other as a matter of course, and he specifically defies the reader to define it as anything but masturbation.
This, so much this. Heinlein was a bit repressed, I think, but acted out many of his fantasies through his writing. Also his neighbors fantasies and his mailman’s fantasies and when he used up all those he made a bunch of fantasies up, he was a writer after all. 
One of the big “messages” of the book is that sex is only bad if you hurt your partner, or if you risk having children with birth defects. With the twins, neither was an issue. Therefore, they did it.
Given that they also claim that sex between them and the original Woodrow Wilson Smith is masturbation, and that they are nonetheless enthusiastic about such, I think it safe to say that they would be similarly enthusiastic with each other.
When is Woody described as enthusiastic about masturbation? He doesn’t decry it as unhealthy or anything, but in Notebooks he calls it terribly lonely.
I didn’t say that Woodrow was enthusiastic about conventional masturbation; I said that Lapis and Lorelei were enthusiastic about sex with Woodrow, despite claiming that it would be masturbation.
