Time to pick a new movie

Did you know 2001 is actually rated G, not PG?

Is Highway 61 a Canadian film? It sounds familiar. And My Life As a Dog is a foreign-language film too, I s’pect.

IMDb has 2001 at G; either I’m a nutty wacko, or I saw it as PG somewhere. Maybe Leonard Maltin’s book, which is gospel, except when it’s wrong.

Two films.

My Life as a Dog (forien but great movie)
Strictly Ballroom An early Laz Burhman film (Moulin Rouge). They had no money for production but a great version of the Dirty Dancing story.

By the way, I finished Dude, Where’s My Car? last night, so now I’m primed to get some of the movies you’ve all suggested.

This will get me banned for life from the Smart Moviegoers Club, but I thought Dude was hifrickinlarious.

I very much doubt it will ever be considered a “classic”. The main problem with it is the final 1/3rd of the movie. The first 2/3rds are a noir(ish), atmospheric, detective story but then the final 1/3rd kinda goes into Rambo mode a bit too much.
