Perhaps a naive question: but do any imams ever issue "fatwas’ aginst this type of murder?
apparently, its OK to authorize the murder of authors and cartoonists, but killing people who are trying to prevent a crippling, deadly disease? What was that…religion of peace?
Ignorance kills. This would just appear to be a particularly spectacular example of that fact.

Actually, AFAIK, many clerics in Pakistan have condemned these killings. However, I do not know if this condemnation came from the influential imams or extended to the issuing of Fatwas. Also, I’m not entirely sure Fatwas have quite the amount of power some people assume they do. I rather think that Fatwas act as convenient authority sanction for shitty behaviour than the cause of such behaviour in the first place. AK84 would be better placed to comment
