Time Travel is Contingent.....?

Okay… I have a theory and I would like to hear some rebuttles, alternatives, and even other people’s theories…

I believe that in order for time travel to be possible humans cannot have free will; and if we have free will then time travel is not possible.

If I were able to go back in time and pull a gun on my grandfather before he ever “procreated my mother”, it would be absolutely impossible for me to kill him because that would mean my mother would not have existed for me to have been born to go back in time and shoot him. Therefore me free will is taken away, or was never there for that matter.

What do ya think? plausible? accurate?

Welcome to the SDMB. You might want to do some searching on “time travel paradox,” as this topic has been discussed at some length previously. The answer is, there is no answer. Either way, I think your question is headed to Great Debates or IMHO.
